Chimney Cleaning & Sweeping

At Cleanrestore we are trained and certified for the cleaning of chimneys, stoves and flues etc. Our purpose of power sweeping chimneys is to ensure that they are clear of obstruction and to clear sooty deposits thus reducing the risk of a chimney fire. Cleanrestore can remove birds’ nests and creosote with no disruption to flue liners. Remember a “Clean Chimney is a Safer Chimney”.

Both the Solid Fuel Association and the National Association of Chimney Sweeps recommend that chimneys used for burning Smokeless Fuel should be swept at least once a year, those burning Domestic Bituminous Coal and or wood at least twice a year when in use, it is this guidance which your Household Insurers will expect you to maintain. In September 2014, the Department of The Environment introduced a law stating that stoves must be cleaned by a trained and certified technician.

While performing our chimney cleaning procedure we can sometimes discover an issue within the flue, blockage, birds nest, creosote, loose liner etc if this issue cannot be rectified with our Rodtech equipment we can inspect the flue with a CCTV inspection camera. The procedure and costs for this service can be explained on the day if you wish to proceed.

Please go to drop down tab for CCTV inspection (https://www.cleanrestore.ie/chimney-cleaning/cctv-chimney-inspections) for more info on this service.

Why we use Power Chimney Sweeping Equipment

Our power sweeping equipment has been developed by experienced sweeps and is an award winning, Industry approved method of sweeping.

We use this equipment to be able to give our customers the best possible clean.

When power sweeping, the brush head expands through centrifugal force to suit the flue (chimney) that we are sweeping. It also centres itself. Due to the way the heads have been designed, it is actually the sides of the strands that sweep the flue (chimney) causing less damage than incorrectly choosing a traditional brush head to sweep a flue (chimney). There is an added advantage that using the speed of the drill can stiffen and soften the sweeping action. So if you are doing an older style chimney then you would use a low speed (softer) however if you are doing a heavily built up clay / steel flue then you can up the speed giving you unbelievable cleaning action.
